Drake - So Far Gone EP / Fear

And I could use a writer just to balance out my flows but I never share my thoughts, this is all a n***a knows...

Although the Property of October mixtape dropped last night, as mentioned in the earlier posts Drake's So Far Gone EP will be coming out on September 15th consisting of seven tracks.

There have been snippets of Fear doing the rounds for a couple of days now, below is the full length version produced by DJ Khalil. One of the deepest tracks I've heard from Drake so far.

Mariah carey - Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (tracklist)

Mariah Carey is set to drop her twelve studio album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, on the 29th of September. There doesn't appear to be any features but we all know she has one of the most amazing voices in the game so it should be a nice album.

2. Obsessed
3. H.A.T.E.U.
4. Candy Bling
5. Ribbon
6. Inseparable
7. Standing O

10. Up Out My Face (the reprise)
11. More Than Just Friends
12. The Impossible
13. The Impossible (the reprise)
14. Angel (the prelude)
15. Angels Cry
16. Languishing (the interlude)

LOVE this song!

Wale - Attention Deficit (album info and artwork)

After releasing five mixtapes Wale will finally be releasing a full album, Attention Deficit, on October 20th and it couldn't come a minute sooner!
Wale is one of my favourite rappers and one of the more conscious Hip Hop artists - a breath of fresh air amongst all of the bubble gum rap that gets put out.

If you heard his last mixtape Back To The Feature with 9th Wonder then you'll definately be on tenter hooks waiting for the album to land. Wale has already let off a couple of tracks from the album to mark reaching 80,000 followers on his Twitter page and from what I'm hearing it's sounding like it's going to be pretty dope. Check them out below.

Drake

If I'm in your starting 5 you will never need a sub...

As I said a few posts back Drake's debut album, Thank Me Later, has been put on hold due to his knee injury. But before he drops his EP he has released yet another mixtape - a double CD including a bonus DVD alongside DJ fletch of Evil Empire - consisting of all the hits from his previous 3 mixtapes and a few unreleased tracks.

50 Cent - Flight 187 (video)

The first single from 50's mixtape, 50th Law of Power.

I think a few people may have something to say about this video what with the anniversary of 9/11 coming up. Listen out for the Jay-Z diss.

Soulja Boy to produce for Kanye West

Kanye tell 'em?...

Probably not the most exciting thing I've heard today because Soulja Boy is far from one of my favourite artists, but according to the man himself he will be guest producing on Kanye West's forthcoming fifth album.
Soulja Boy is currently touring for America's Most Wanted Music Festival and apparently when he gets time off he is hitting the studio to work on beats for Yeezy, "I'm actually working on Kanye's album right now, while he's working on my album. We're working together on production because he makes beats and I make beats."

So let's get this right, instead of just getting a feature or buying a beat from Kanye for his third album, The DeAndre Way, Soulja Boy will instead be swapping some of his own beats and remixes? Am I the only one who doesn't see how Mr West could possibly be getting a good deal here?! I'll reserve full judgement for when I actually hear something though.

Chris Brown on Larry King

Last night Chris Brown (and his bowtie) made an appearance on Larry King Live to talk about his infamous abusive relationship with Rihanna.
There are some cringeworthy moments, some parts that just made me think 'thank God he's an entertainer - he's way too simple for anything else' and times when I wished someone briefed Larry and told him it's Rihanna, not Ray-Ana.

Wife Swap gone wrong

She can't run in those little high heels...

High-larious!!

Destiny and her children to make a return

The survivers are back...

Apparently Destiny's Child will be making a comeback in 2010. I am actually a fan of these girls and their work so I'm not cringing like I was when I first heard that the Spice Girls were reuniting.

Despite the girls having very successful solo careers and currently touring, (or having just finished touring) the world the girls are said to still owe Colombia records another album due to a contractual agreement and are set to return to the studio collectively as soon as Beyonce finishes her current tour promoting her I am... Sasha Fierce album.

Drake's debut put on hold

For all the Drake fans out there who were eagerly awaiting his debut album, Thank Me Later, it wont be dropping until mid-February 2010 (the rumour is Valentine's day).
As you probably already know Drake has a problem with his knee and will be undergoing surgery on the 8th of September to repair a torn cartilage. Due to the time it will take him to recover, and subsequently not being able to perform any promotional gigs, he has decided to take the rest of the year off to recouperate and release an EP instead.
The EP will be seven tracks deep, and an official commercial release of his 2008 mixtape, So Far Gone. I'm guessing it will have at least a few unreleased tracks on there but we'll have to wait and see.

The official release date is September 15th.

Perempay & Dee featuring Shola Ama - DJ Play (video)

DJ play, don't wanna stop this feeling...

I really love the music Perempay and Dee are putting out at the moment, it goes down well with the "Funky" crowd but also the soulful lovers because it's so well produced. This is their second release this year - the first a collaboration with Katie Pearl, In The Air - which is another favourite of mine.

I have to admit though, I was expecting a little bit more from this video and not just them sitting in the VIP section. But as far as UK videos goes I've seen a lot worse!

Jay-Z plays it cool

Jay-Z talking about the leak of The Blueprint 3, ten days before its official release date.

Jay Z commercial

This is the commercial for Rapsody to promote Jay's forthcoming album, The Blueprint 3. If you're a fan of Jay's work you'll notice that all the stills are recreations of his previous album artwork.
I think the concept is dope!

Jay Z on MySpace TV

Jay Z talks about battling Biggie and Busta Rhymes in the school lunch room, blending music business with the streets and his musical influences growing up.

Mario - Thinking About You

This is the second single from Mario's forthcoming third album, D.N.A, which is due for release on October 13th. the album is rumoured to have production and features from Stargate, The-Dream and Babyface to name a few - definately looking forward to it.

Jay Z featuring J Cole - A Star Is Born

Drake's up next, see what he do wit' it...

The production on this one is amazing, not sure who produced it though. Loving J. Cole's verse too. anyone saying Hove fell off after hearing this really isn't listening properly, seriously.

Jay Z featuring Kanye West - Hate

I love all my haters...

Love this track! Totally appropriate for the buying fraturnity, and music industry heads alike, with nothing but negative gas to let off about Jay and whether The Blueprint 3 will be a classic - BEFORE they've even heard it. You've got to have love for those guys.

Joe - Majic (sic) video

This is the 1st release from Joe's latest album, The Signature. It's a hot album - definately not one to be slept on. Majic also happens to be one of my favourite tracks at the moment. Nice video too.
